Yes. In October and in July, a campervan is the cheapest of the three usual ways for two people to get around and sleep. The lead shrinks in summer, because campervan rental more than doubles while campsites cost the same.

The three columns differ only in how you travel and where you sleep, so the tables show only what changes: the rental, the beds and the fuel. Everyone cooks their own meals and drives the same route, so each total also includes the same food (28,294 ISK) and road tax (10,850 ISK).

In October the van costs more to rent than the car, but campsites save far more than that against beds. In July the van's rental more than doubles and eats most of that saving, so the campervan week is only a little cheaper than hostels and a car.
